Black Stars midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi says he is ready to play in any position if it helps Ghana succeed.
The match-winner against Panama, who scored the late goal to secure a 1-0 victory in Ghana’s World Cup opener, said representing his country is more important than where he plays on the pitch.
After being used at right-back under former coach Otto Addo, Yirenkyi has returned to his natural midfield role under Carlos Queiroz, where he has impressed with strong performances and two international goals.
“I’m just happy to serve my nation anywhere on the field. I don’t really mind. Just do the job,” Yirenkyi said.
The Black Stars will now turn their attention to a crucial Group L clash against England on June 23 before facing Croatia in their final group-stage match.
