Antoine Semenyo has opened up about the emotional reaction from his family after deciding to represent the Ghana national football team instead of the England national football team.
The Manchester City forward revealed that his father and entire family were overjoyed when he committed to Ghana, describing their reaction as “crazy” and filled with pride.
Semenyo explained that choosing the Black Stars was an easy decision because he was never high in England’s selection plans. He made his debut ahead of the 2022 World Cup and is expected to play a key role for Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
For the striker, Ghana’s belief in him — and his family’s happiness — confirmed he made the right choice.
