Tottenham Hotspur boss Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed that Mohammed Kudus will miss the rest of the season after suffering a serious relapse of his quad injury.
The Ghanaian forward had only recently returned to training after a three-month layoff but now faces possible surgery following the setback. De Zerbi admitted he feels “sorry” for the player, describing him as a great person and a key part of his tactical plans.
The news comes ahead of Tottenham’s crucial clash with Brighton & Hove Albion, with Spurs currently sitting 18th and battling relegation with six games left.
Before his injury in January, Kudus had contributed three goals and six assists in 26 appearances across competitions. The setback also raises concerns for the Ghana national football team, with teammate Antoine Semenyo calling the situation “frustrating” as the Black Stars prepare for the upcoming World Cup campaign.
