Oscar Naasei Oppong stars in Granada’s away win at Cultural Leonesa

Ghanaian defender Oscar Naasei turned in another assured display as Granada secured a hard-fought 1-0 away victory over Cultural Leonesa on Sunday.

Deployed initially at right-back, Naasei Oppong completed the full 90 minutes and demonstrated his tactical flexibility by moving into central defence in the second half.

His positional awareness and composure helped Granada protect their slender advantage as they saw out the match.

The 21-year-old was widely regarded as one of the game’s standout performers, earning a 6.9 rating, with only three players in the starting lineup receiving higher marks.

Naasei has now established himself as a regular fixture in Granada’s squad this season, featuring in 33 appearances in Spain’s Segunda División.

His consistent performances continue to strengthen his reputation within the team, having steadily progressed since joining the Spanish club in 2023 and earning increasing trust from the technical staff.

Granada’s victory keeps their promotion ambitions to La Liga firmly on track.

Eligible to represent Ghana, Naasei is also viewed as a potential future option for the Black Stars as he continues to develop at a competitive level in Spanish football.
